Community Involvement In Mural
There was a lot of community participation throughout
Rockingham County
in preparing for and painting the "Harmony" mural in Bridgewater
Virginia.
Town council member Ted Flory and his wife Mary Beth
helped paint the base
coat. Local artists transferred the design, and on Saturday and Sunday, June
29-30, 2002 from noon to 4pm, dozens of local citizens turned out--children
and
adults. All combined their time and effort and completed the 22-foot
mural.
The project was co-sponsored for the first annual Valley Fourth by:
The sponsors, the designer--Karen Ryder Lee, and her
co-coordinator, Ann
Menefee give their thanks to the individuals, families, organizations, and
news organizations who helped or donated, and to the dozens more who gave
their moral support.
