OS X Mail: Getting Started

OS X Mail Overview

Macintosh OS X Mail is a comprehensive desktop information management program. You can use it as a central In box for all of your internal and external e-mail messaging systems. You can also use it to manage your contacts.

Starting OS X Mail

  1. If an OS X Mail icon is on the Dock, Click the Mail icon.

  2. If an OS X Mail icon is NOT on the Dock, click on the Finder icon on the Dock.

  3. In the Finder window, click Applications. If OS X Mail is installed, there should be a Mail icon.



Exiting OS X Mail

You can exit OS X Mail in the same way you would exit any other OS X program. Close OS X Mail by closing the window or using cmd-Q or going to Mail>Quit Mail.
