Saving an Attachment

Before saving an attachment, if you have not already done so, please visit Opening an Attachment.

There are various ways to save attachments in OS X Mail. The following steps will guide you through saving an attachment:

Steps to Save an Attachment

  1. When the message with the attachment is in view, you can click on File from the Menu Bar and then Save Attachments... as shown below.



  2. You can also open the attachment and then save it in its respective application.

  3. In Mail, however, the Save All... button is readily available to save an attachment.



  4. Click on the Save All... button and simply save the attachment where you desire.

  5. If you have an attachment that does not have a default application to open it, you will receive something similar to the following:



  6. From that dialogue box, you can also save the attachment where you desire.

  7. If you have multiple attachments to one message, probably the easiest way to save and see what attachments you actually have is to use the gray triangle under the mail message headings (described in Opening an Attachment and the icons associated with it.
