Moving a Message to a Folder

You can move messages between folders at any time. You can also move deleted messages from the Trash folder to restore them to their original location.

To move a message, when you are viewing a list of messages, you can click on any item in the message header (the name of the sender in the From field, the Subject in the Subject field, or the date in the Date Received field. Then just drag the message to the folder you want it to go in and when the folder is highlighted, let go of the mouse button.

You can also highlight a message by clicking on it and then go to Message on the Menu Bar. Then go to either Move To (to move the message from the current location to the selected location) OR go to Copy To (to keep a copy in the current location as well as create one in the selected location).

This process works with both IMAP and On My Mac/Local folders.
