Shenandoah National Park
One of the nice things about living in Harrisonburg is being close to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. One of my favorite times to visit the park is after snowstorms that close the park to traffic. But the park is a nice place to visit year-round for hiking, picnicing and sight-seeing. We see deer on just about every visit and have also spotted a couple black bears over the years. Franklin Cliffs is a nice spot for bird watching.
